All About Our Edge Treatments: An Introduction to This Awesome Glass Feature

April 15, 2019 | By |

If you’ve got upgrading your countertops on your home renovation to-do list, don’t just choose any company for the job. Consider us at CGD Glass Countertops instead. We’re based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and have years of excellence with our home remodels.

We specialize in glass products and accent items, such as countertops, bar tops, tabletops, backsplashes, sinks and vanities, and so much more. What our customers love most is the freedom we give them to customize their glass items their way.

For instance, we provide edge treatments for many of our glass products. This awesome feature perfectly complements the textured glass we offer. If you’re at all curious about our edge treatments, we recommend you read this post.

What Are Edge Treatments?

Our edge treatments or edge work are an extra special detail we provide for most of our glass items. If you order a countertop, tabletop, bar top, raised countertop, or kitchen island from us at CGD, we give you the option to add this feature.

It’s a great means of taking your glass item to the next level. First, we let you select the thickness, shape, and size of your product. Then, if you prefer, you can get it textured. With our edge treatments, you can choose to have your countertop or tabletop edges textured as well. This looks especially awesome with thermoformed glass projects. Don’t forget to finish your glass item with some LED lighting so all the textural choices you made really stand out!

Which Edge Treatments Can You Choose From?

Okay, so which edge treatments can you select from for your glass accent piece? Here at CGD Glass Countertops, we excel in giving our customers plenty of choices. That’s why you get five edge treatments to pick from.

Fire Polished

The first of these is fire polished. This has a flat, clean look but with a slightly rounded edge to your countertop, bar top, or kitchen island.

Satin

You may also be interested in our satin edge treatment. We called this one after the soft, luxe material due to the close resemblance. The glass on the edge of your tabletop has a slight opaqueness to it. Texturally, it’s somewhat cloudy, especially compared to our fire polished edge treatment.

Flat Polished

Next, there’s flat polished. This is akin to fire polished but with flatter edges. Texturally, it’s more complex but still a very viable option for your kitchen or bathroom remodel.

Textured

Our textured edge treatment has the most going on. The wealth of detail found here will make sitting at a kitchen counter a joy each and every day.

Brushed Satin

Last but certainly not least, you might try our brushed satin edge treatment. This upgrade to our basic satin treatment has more textures and details, giving it a softer, shinier look.
